Overview...

New Zealand fashion week was not everything NBTG was hoping for...
Fashion shows are meant to be about extravagance, luxury and statement pieces. Not regurgitated trends in new materials.
However NBTG did enjoy Hailwood, Nom*D and Stolen Girlfriends Club. These designers were consistent in sticking to their ideas, and translating them well into a show.
The others were not so lucky in impressing us. But we're glad we saw everyone.
Here are a few snaps to keep us inspired..

Lonely Hearts instilation

Last night was the first 'event' of Air New Zealand Fashion Week. Lonely Hearts launched a mini movie which was playing on plasma screens on the centre of a huge empty space - which we understand to be their PR offices. Fancy!
The room was packed with every fashionista from Auckland to Sydney and even the US where Rumi from fashiontoast.com even attended.
We were unable to post what was shown (as it was on tv screens) however we are very fond of the Lonely Hearts latest collection of lingerie which they've just launched. So gorgeous!

First things first...Goodie bags!

The goodie bags are a lovely way to begin fashion week. This particular collection included an array of Kiwi magazines such as Fashion Quarterly, Apparel, World, Remix and The Guide. Also i recieved a stress ball (may be useful later on during the week), some Rejuva aloe juice, coffee beans, house paint (a pottle the size of nail polish), and some Kellogg's 'Special K' - for the svelt bod every woman aims for during the hectic week of fashion.
Everyone is very sweet, and the preparations seem to be well organised for the shows a head.

NBTG plans to see the following kiwi designers...

Cybelle

Trelise Cooper

Stolen Girlfriends Club

Lonely Hearts (instillation)
Zambesi

Nom*D

Alexandra Owen

Juliette Hogan
and Hailwood (who is rumored to have Pamela Anderson walk in his show!)

Natasha Poly for Muse, photos by Riccardo Tisci

Yes we realize Natasha Poly frequents our blog more than anyone else, and whether it be the photo-shoots she lands, or simply herself making the shoots amazing - we can't decide.
But we love it.
